I grew up in Rome, Italy, and these were all pop culture elements swirling in my consciousness as a child вЂ“ which makes it such a joy and comfort to me to synthesise this DNA into a new place. The song is intended to evoke a sense of nostalgia and home, with the magic and abandon of the disco era, a sprinkle of Italian soundtrack arrangement, and the gloss of 90s dance.

The term then became the perfect name for my OTT disco parties вЂ“ which in turn inspired my song. Think Cicciolina, Don Ray and Remedios AmayaвЂ™s nul-points Eurovision entry. Disco that has a WTF factor, and is difficult to place in a genre, time period or country.
